Do you offer sizes larger than 12?

Yes, we do! Because all final gowns are custom made to order, we are able to offer sizes beyond the standard size chart. Currently we can make all final gowns from 0 to 24. Text (310) 596-1612 or email with any sizing questions!

How much is shipping? What about to ship final gowns internationally?

We got this one. Standard shipping on your final gown is free within the contiguous United States. Consider it “extra champagne budget” or “pick chicken/fish for 1.” Put it towards your Manolos. You do you.

Need rush shipping? Or require international shipping? Or shipping to Hawaii/Alaska/Puerto Rico? Select these options at checkout to calculate the shipping rates.

How long will it take for my final gown to be ready?

Around 10-15 weeks, ~3 months. Why the wait? Our gowns are always custom made to your specifications (aka never, ever off-the-rack) and our artisans need time to craft up your creation. Traditional bridal boutiques usually require a 6-9 month lead time to deliver your dress. We cut that in half by selling direct to you - and by employing some pretty savvy supply chain practices, if we do say so ourselves (but we won't bore you with those details).

What if I need my final gown faster?

Elopements happen. So do shotgun weddings (are they still calling them that?). If you find yourself strapped for time, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do: (310) 596-1612 or

How do customizations work?

All of our gowns are made to order, which means we can offer customization options at checkout - just like at fancy schmancy boutiques (except without the sales pitch). Want anything different or have something else in mind? Just ask us! Our dressmakers will work with you to make it happen.

Each style offers some standard customizations that we think are well suited to each silhouette. Think: train length, sleeve length, monogramming (!). Looking for something different, that isn't offered? Get in touch!

We also strive to keep customization prices very reasonable. We simply charge the cost of the pattern change, additional fabric, sewing labor, etc - and steer clear of those exorbitant bridal alterations markups. (We once paid $800 to get a wedding dress hemmed - true story!)

What's the deal with "Bridal Sizing" vs. "Standard Sizing"?

We didn’t know this until we tried on our own wedding dresses, but “Bridal Sizing” is a strange sizing convention that is usually two sizes off from standard sizing - and in the wrong direction might we add! A “Bridal” 12 is actually closer to a size 8 or 10 in standard sizing (what?!). We don’t know why this wedding industry concept persists, but our dresses are sized standard comparable to contemporary lines because that just makes sense! So order the size you normally buy in regular clothing.

Wait, so what size should I order in my final dress?

Unlike at a brick-and-mortar bridal boutique, we’re not going to tell you to order a size (or two!) up off the bat just to have the dress tailored down. You may end up needing alterations (many brides do, especially as the wedding draws near, we’ve seen brides go through major size fluctuations in the weeks before the big day), but we want your dress to start as close to size as possible. If you’re a true 4 order a 4. If you’re between measured sizes, always order up. It’s as simple as that.

See our size chart on each gown's customization page to compare against your measurements. In between sizes? Order the size of your largest measurement (i.e. if you're a size 4 in the bust, but size 6 in the waist, order the size 6). If you ordered your Bride Box, we included a tape measure so you can measure yourself to a tee.

Dazed and confused? Text us at (310) 596-1612 or email us at and we'd be happy to talk it through and suggest a size!

What about alterations?

Every body is different and your dress may need some tweaking in alterations to fit you like a glove. And, even if your dress fits perfectly out of the box (lucky you!), we’ve also seen many brides’ sizes fluctuate as it gets closer to the big day. We recommend getting in touch with an experienced bridal seamstress* in your area to check availability to ensure your perfect dress also fits you perfectly.  Text (310) 596-1612 or email us at if you are looking for guidance picking a seamstress near you.

*Loved your seamstress? Drop us a note so we can help make recommendations to future brides!

I'm tall/petite/broad-shouldered/full busted... how should I take that into account when ordering?

All of our gowns are designed thoughtfully with the requirements of different body types in mind. And construction details such as center back zippers and deep whip-stitched hems are designed to be alterations friendly.

We also offer some fit customizations to make alterations easier: lowering waistlines for taller brides, offering longer hem lengths for taller brides, or raising necklines or backs for additional modesty or coverage. Should you require more room in the bust or shoulders, we recommending sizing up.  Your personal Floravere stylist is happy to talk through your specific needs and recommend the best customizations for your body type.
